“So getting a patent can sometimes be a long and frustrating journey. I have a few patents and the majority of those turned out to be "not so great ideas" and didn't earn their keep! Now, what happens if/when you get a patent on an item and then it begins to sell? Well, from experience I can tell you that the nasty copies will show up at Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Facebook and all of the little online knock-off sites. When that happens, that's when you find out the actual quality of your patent, specifically the quality of the claims. Sort of like buying car insurance - you never know if your insurance company is any good until you have an accident! Kevin Prince has written several utility patents for me that have issued. The most important one is for an electronic mechanics tool that I invented several years ago. To date, with this patent I have removed well over 1000 infringing sellers on Amazon, Walmart and eBay - yes over 1000!
