Office (PTO)
- Can prosecute patent applications with the PTO,

just about any business with the PTO relating to patents
- Has taken an oath of secrecy for the PTO, promising
to keep client information secret
A Patent Attorney...
- Is the same as a patent agent, but also has a law
degree
- Can handle patent litigation, lawsuits, infringement
matters, etc.
- Can handle trademark issues
- May have more specialized knowledge regarding patent
court cases, etc.
- Is usually more expensive
